Comparação: Todas as vantagens e desvantagens do copo menstrual

Our menstrual cup has a hardness of 50 ShA. It tends to be medium to soft to make insertion easier for you.
If for any reason you do not feel well or if you experience pain while using the menstrual cup, please remove it immediately. In very rare cases, toxic shock syndrome (TSS) can occur, just like with tampons and pads. Affected persons usually suffer from sudden dizziness, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, muscle or throat pain or fainting. Sometimes skin rashes also occur. If you notice such changes, then quickly to the nearest doctor's office or even better to the emergency room. TSS can be life-threatening. The earlier it is detected and treated, the better!
This depends entirely on the strength of your bleeding. As soon as you notice that the menstrual cup is full, you should of course change it (you usually notice this - literally). However, you should change the cup after eight hours of use at the latest, so that everything stays nice and relaxed and hygienic. You forgot to take it out or keep it in longer? Normally this is not a problem. However, if you don't feel well afterwards or are worried, talk to your gynecologist. Theoretically, our cup does not "break". Due to its high-quality and durable material, you can use it for up to 10 years! And, very important: Even if it is quick, the cup must be removed before sexual intercourse!
Even if you take exemplary care of your menstrual cup, odors or discoloration may occur. This is completely natural and is caused by menstrual blood. The good news is that our cups are not transparent, but dark blue and red-purple. This means that discoloration is actually not visible at all! However, if it does happen that the cup discolors or smells, baking soda is your friend and helper! The next time you sterilize in boiling water, simply add a teaspoon to the pot and let it boil out. Tadaaaa, almost like new!
Even if it seems a little inconvenient at first glance, this is not a problem on the plane, on vacation or camping. Since you can use the cup longer than conventional tampons or pads, it is often even advantageous. The only challenge are public toilets where the sink is not directly in the cabin. Then it's good to take your water bottle with you and rinse the cup with the water over the toilet. When cleaning with toilet paper, please make sure that there are no paper particles left on the cup when you put it back. Otherwise, simply stow it away in your handy cotton bag. Wash your hands and you're good to go again!
Basically, it is no problem to use a menstrual cup even if you have an intact hymen or are still very young. In this case, we recommend our size S. However, please talk to your gynecologist about this.
Your most important task: Stay calm and take a deep breath! The cup can't slide down to an unreachable depth, so there's no need to worry at first. The menstrual cup holds so well because it creates a vacuum in your vagina with the help of the circular opening. If you can't get a grip on the cup, use your pelvic floor muscles: If you press firmly, the cup will slide further down. Then gently push the stem back and forth with your hands and gently press in on one side with your index finger. As soon as the vacuum is released, you can slowly pull it out. Done! If it doesn't work right away, just wait a few minutes and try again later. If nothing works at all, please go to your gynecologist. They can easily take it out for you.
You have two options with our cups: Size S and size M (this one). If you are not sure which cup fits you, you should consider the following things: Size M is your cup for: - heavy bleeding - high cervix - weaker pelvic floor muscles - if you are a mommy Size S, on the other hand, is recommended for - light to medium bleeding - strong pelvic floor muscles - low or deep cervix For orientation: Our size S is approx. 40 mm in diameter, size M 43 mm. Still undecided? As with tampons, you often have to try out different menstrual cups and sizes until you really feel comfortable. But don't let that discourage you, you're sure to find what you're looking for.
Congratulations, you have successfully used it for the first time! You can simply empty the contents of the period cup into the toilet or drain after removal, then rinse the silicone under cold water. Also make sure that the small holes at the top are clean. They ensure that the vacuum works properly. If you want to use the cup again, you can put it back in place. If you are past your period (yay!) or are switching to an alternative period product, please boil it in the saucepan as you did before the first use (with vinegar or without) and then put it in your nice cotton bag.
There are various folding techniques that you can use. It's best to try different ones to find the one that works best for you. The only important thing is that the menstrual cup unfolds and pops open properly. The most popular folding techniques are the C-fold ("heart fold"), the S-fold ("the cobra") and the punchdown fold ("the clam"). We could write you a long written tutorial about these folds, but the easiest and most understandable way is to simply watch a video. Then you can follow along step-by-step. Happy trying!
Yes, you can use the menstrual cup overnight without any problems - more stress-free than with tampons. If you have inserted it correctly, it sits leak-proof even when lying down, without slipping.
The following applies: Make sure you get a date with your gynecologist. It is also possible to use the menstrual cup in combination with a coil or copper chain, but opinions and experiences on this topic are divided. In rare cases, the contraceptive can slip out of place due to the negative pressure. An individual discussion is therefore very useful.
Our menstrual cup is made of 100% medical silicone Made in Germany. This has the advantage that it is very flexible and durable. Even a latex allergy is no problem, you can still use our Menstrual Cup!
There are many terms for the menstrual cup: Menstasse, menstrual cup, menstrual cup, period cup, menstrual cap, ladycup, menstrual bell or even mooncup. In the end, however, they all mean the same thing: The menstrual cup is a cup that is usually made of silicone, medical grade plastic or latex and is a sustainable alternative to period products like tampons or pads. It consists of a kind of cup in which the period blood is collected. At the bottom of the cup there is a ball, a small ring or a handle, with the help of which you can remove the cup again after releasing the vacuum. During your period, the cup is inserted into the vagina and left there for several hours.
1. very important: First of all, wash your hands! Your body is a temple and you can't go in there with dirty fingers. 2. 2. find a position - relaxed for you - to insert the menstrual cup. This can be sitting on the toilet, standing, or squatting. Alternatively, you can place one foot on a small elevation. Before inserting the cup, moisten it with a little water. 3. Make sure your breathing is relaxed and fold the cup using your favorite folding technique (see FAQ item: "How do I fold the menstrual cup correctly?"). 4. 4. then you can insert the cup slowly and relaxed into the vagina and towards the cervix. How deep you insert it is your personal preference. As a tendency, you can say that you do not insert the cup as deep as a tampon. However, the stem should also no longer be visible. If you feel pain or discomfort when inserting the cup, you can also moisten the vaginal entrance with a little lubricant. 5. Then slowly release, the cup should pop inside you (listen for the sound). If you are unsure if it has unfolded, grab the stem and gently move it back and forth a bit. Once it is properly seated, there will automatically be a vacuum, which will ensure that nothing can leak out. Then, moreover, it can hardly be felt. Feeling overwhelmed? No master has fallen from the sky yet! So don't worry if it doesn't work right away, and take the time and try as much as you need. Especially in the beginning, we recommend that you use additional pads or panties in case it doesn't work out the way you want it to.
When your menstrual cup is full or you want to take it out and change it, first of all wash your hands thoroughly. We don't want any dirt in our sacred halls! 2) To take it out, sit down on the toilet, squat down or take a shower. Take a deep breath and relax, then feel for the cup with your fingers and press against the side of the cup with your index finger to release the vacuum. It is important that you do not pull on it without releasing the vacuum, otherwise you may increase the vacuum. 4) Again, don't panic if you don't have a good grip on the menstrual cup or it doesn't work right away. Try to relax and push it down with your pelvic floor muscles. The cup can't slide in too deep into your body, so take a deep breath and try again after a few minutes.
We have to answer this question with a no. Even though the menstrual cup is super practical, it is not suitable for everyone. Especially mothers who have recently given birth should be careful. Under no circumstances should a menstrual cup be used before the flow has dried up. It is also possible that you will need a different cup size afterwards. It is also very rare for menstruators to have weak pelvic floor muscles, which means that the cup does not fit properly. In both cases, we advise you to have this clarified with a doctor.
